Affiliate Disclosure

At HelpfulHardwareGuy.com, our goal is to empower DIY enthusiasts and homeowners with reliable advice, honest reviews, and practical recommendations. As part of our commitment to transparency, we want you to know that this site contains affiliate links to products and services offered by Ace Hardware and other retailers.

When you click on one of these affiliate links and make a purchase, Helpful Hardware Guy may earn a small commission—at no additional cost to you. These commissions help support the content, tutorials, and resources we share, and allow us to continue providing valuable guidance in the home improvement space.

We only promote products we genuinely believe in, many of which we’ve used firsthand in our own projects—including building an entire house from the ground up. Our recommendations are based on real experience, honest opinions, and a passion for helping others bring their DIY visions to life.

If you have any questions about this disclosure or the products we feature, feel free to reach out. We’re here to be a trusted partner in your journey to create, build, and improve.

What are affiliate links?

Purchases are made on external affiliate company websites: When a reader clicks on an affiliate link located on helpfulhardwareguy.com to purchase an item, the reader buys the item from the seller directly (not from helpfulhardwareguy.com). Amazon and/or other companies pay helpfulhardwareguy.com a small commission or other compensation for promoting their website or products through their affiliate program.

Prices are exactly the same for you if your purchase is through an affiliate link or a non-affiliate link. You will not pay more by clicking through to the link.

We use three main types of affiliate programs:

1. Amazon affiliate links.

helpfulhardwareguy.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon properties including, but not limited to, amazon.com. Amazon offers a small commission on products sold through their affiliate links.

If a blogger links to an Amazon product (with a special code for affiliates embedded in the link), and a reader places an item in their “shopping cart” through that link within 24 hours of clicking the link, the blogger gets a small percentage of the sale. Amazon links are not “pay per click.” If you click on the product link and stay around Amazon and purchase something else, however, I will get commission on that sale.

Anytime you see a link that looks like astore.com/… or amazon.com… it can be assumed that it is an Amazon affiliate link.

2. Product affiliate links.
helpfulhardwareguy.com is also a participant in the Ace Hardware Affiliate Program, which is designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Ace Hardware properties, including acehardware.com. Ace Hardware offers a commission on products sold through their affiliate links.

If a blogger links to an Amazon or Ace Hardware product (with a special code for affiliates embedded in the link), and a reader places an item in their “shopping cart” through that link within 24 hours of clicking the link, the blogger gets a small percentage of the sale. What about sponsored content?

I do not write sponsored posts. I want to bring you real, unbiased information. However, if a post is sponsored by a company and it is a paid sponsorship, I will disclose this clearly in the beginning of the post.

I Become an Affiliate Marketer with Wealthy Affiliate? Here’s why,

You know the saying, “Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat for a day; teach him how to build a website that sells fishing gear, and he’ll earn commissions for life.” Okay… maybe that’s not exactly how it goes, but you get the idea.

After years of helping DIYers find the right tools and solve real-world hardware headaches, I started wondering how I could reach even more people outside the aisles of my local hardware store. That’s when I discovered Wealthy Affiliate—a community-driven platform that doesn’t just promise passive income but actually teaches you how to build it. And adding to my retirement income would be a bonus.

What drew me in?

  • Real Training, Not Get-Rich-Quick Fluff
I’ve seen enough duct-taped solutions to know when something’s held together with gimmicks. Wealthy Affiliate offered step-by-step training that made sense—even to a hammer-swinging hardware guy like me.
  • Supportive Community
It’s like walking into a shop where everyone’s willing to lend a hand. Whether you’re troubleshooting SEO or choosing affiliate products, there’s always someone who’s been there and figured it out.
  • A Platform That Grows with You
From launching my first blog post to building a full-on online brand, Wealthy Affiliate gave me the tools—and confidence—to go from “what’s affiliate marketing?” to “I can actually do this!”

Becoming an affiliate marketer with Wealthy Affiliate gave me the chance to combine my passion for helping people with a business model that’s sustainable, honest, and surprisingly fun. If you’re curious about affiliate marketing but don’t want to dive in blind, Wealthy Affiliate is where I’d point you. Heck, I am pointing you—just look around this site!
